Darioen's Short Story

Exposition: They call me many names around this city, Big Boss, Head Honcho, and my favorite The Clutch. My father died when I was only 4 years old, shot in the back of the head by the rival family, the Gambino's. My mother was having a hard time trying to support us in the harsh New York city, the place were dreams are supposedly  made. My mom worked at the local cafe during the day and worked the streets at night, it was never easy making friends at school being the quiet kid. I was always picked on for my size, but I did have one talent that helped me get through to adult hood though. I realized that I have knack for being able to create a posse or a family away from home, where we have each others back. I was the leader of this group, my friend Anthony 'Tony' Luciano, Joey 'The kid'  Profaci, and my cousin Paul ' Pepper Face' Gotti. I was seen as the Boss of this tiny army, but as we grew older our little gang grew as well. We soon had over 20 members in our posse. My cousin Paul was the underboss, in charge of every from intel to organizing hits on certain pests ruining business. Tony was my right hand man, he knew what was happening on the streets 24/7 and was able to help me make smart moves to avoid the wrong kind of attention. Last but not least Joey was my capodecina, coordinating new recruits and setting up key points in our business and to prevent the other families from destroying our kingdom.

Inciting incident: Recently Joey hired this kid that know one knew, he was the quiet type, smart guy, knew how to handle himself in the world, but I saw some potential in him so I gave him a chance. Little did I know that this would be the begging to the end.

Rising Action: The kids name is Alex "Penguin" Anglelidas, He's from the N.Z coast, a small little crime ridden town and he hopped on the boat to NY when he was 10 and began making a living for himself being a hit man. It seems as if Penguin knows to much about our way of operations too much, but it could be just a hunch. I just know that one of our money shipments has gone dark on us.

Climax: Joey disappears, Paul calls out on Alex being the loop to the police, a mole in our operations. I do some digging and create a false drug deal with a lot of money being involved to confirm my suspicions, Alex shows up and my men and I sack 'em and tie him up and throw him in the back of the trunk, we pull up to the docks and interrogate him and then we feed him to the fishes.

Falling Action: 20 years later, most of the original gang has died from cancer or assassinations, and I'm about to retire from old age, and let my new underboss run things how they used to be.

Resolution: In a retirement home writing an auto biography of my life.

  1. I like the name of the kid. Maybe describe him in more detail.

  2. I like your story, but it seems like you have a lot more in the beginning than at the end. Other than some grammar errors, good job!
