Exposition: April, an eighteen year old girl lives with
her family in Broker, a small town in Connecticut. It is her senior year and she
is still a loser in school. She has no friends or anyone to talk to in school. Her
dad is often out of the city due to his business and he is very strict when it
comes to school. Her mom is a housewife, who wants the best for her children.
She has a sister who is the exact opposite of her; friendly, smart and active. Her
family isn’t very fond of her either because she is extremely lazy, doesn’t do
any chores at home and nor does she get good grades in school.
Inciting Incident: The first semester finals results have come
out and she has failed in all her classes except English. She has a huge fight
with her mom.
Rising Action: She is unable to deal with all the hatred
around her; hence she decides to leave the house. She has no idea where she is
going but she keeps on walking aimlessly with her little purple suitcase.
Climax: From a distance, she sees a big bridge. She stands
there by the road, considering suicide for some time. She leaves her suitcase
there and starts to walk towards the bridge. With several thoughts running through
her mind, her eyes slowly start to close as she is walking. A truck hits her.
Falling Action: The truck driver calls the cops who take her to the hospital immediately. The cops find her phone from one of her pockets and they call her parents. When the parents arrive, April is in the operation room, going through a major head surgery.
Resolution: The operation is not successful and she dies... leaving her parents in dismay.
i 'm kind've unclear to what her mother was aruging about?
ReplyDeletealso, the suicide would make a little more sense if you expressed signs of depression
overall, i really like your story, and i think it has the potential to be even better
I like how your short story ends with a twist. But it is slightly vague.
ReplyDeleteHer mother was angry because she failed like almost all her classes and her mother is really conscious about her grades..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion! :)
This is so interesting, i also like how the story ends with her dying. Its ironic, I thought she would have a change of heart and her life would begin to go well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad now....
