Exposition: Neil Cloudst, a seventeen year old highschooler is at the prime of his life. His entire community revolved around his positivity and selflessness. Not only was he known for being nice in his community, at school, everyone knew him as captain of their undefeated football team. Neil was the most popular and friendly person at school, until one day, he wakes up in the morning, and no one knows who he is.
As he awakes, he notices that all the sports' medals, pictures, and certificates that he had obtained over the past years, were gone. He gets up and doesn't think anything of it, and leaves to go to his bestfriend's house. After arriving at his friend's doorstep, he notices that the doormat they made together was missing. He knocks on the door, and his friend walks out, asking who he was. Thinking he's joking, Neil laughs and starts to joke around with him. His friend maintains a serious look on his face, and Neil starts to get scared. His friend asks him to leave, so Neil walks away, confused.
Inciting incident: As he's walking back home, he tries to start conversations with all of his former acquaintances, only to see that they really have no clue who he is. Neil ends up going to coffee shop to sit down and think about everything that's going on, and thats when the waitress almost calls him by his first name. Shocked, he takes her aside, and begins to interrogate her about what's going on. The manager comes out, alarmed, and threatens to call the cops.
Rising action: After convincing the manager that everything was alright, he sits down and asks the waitress one more time. She doesn't say anything, but she hands him a business card. The business card had nothing written on it, except for a phone number. He goes home and sits down, contemplating on what he had to lose.
Climax: Neil calls the number on the card, and no one answers the phone. Disappointed, he calls it numerous times. A few minutes later, an entire swat team and a few FBI agents burst into his room and place a bag over his head and throw him in a van.
Resolution: Neil wakes up behind a metal table, sitting across from an Agent Burke. Agent Burke Hands Neil a file, and shows him all of the criminal actions that his mother and father were arrested for. Burke also shows Neil the file of the mission they were currently carrying out. "Operation Rebirth" was the mission in which Neil was to be drugged and woken up in a community with replacement parents, and friends that he was to make again. Unfortunately, he didn't drink all of the drug that they placed in his soda, and he woke up in the middle of the process. Devastated, Neil asks for the drug, and he wakes up the next morning as if nothing had happened.
This is so intense good job.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you developed the story in the beginning! The climax was completely unexpected, which made me want to keep reading. I'm really excited for the extended story and to see what happens in the end!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent and unique idea, I'm so impressed! ;) I really liked how the reader is left in the dark and has to figure out what is going on until the end. It's definitely something I've never heard before, so good job.
